    5 Delicious Gluten Free Pasta Recipes You Need to Try

    If you love pasta, there are plenty of good gluten free pasta recipes out there. As the world of gluten free food continues to expand, there are so many different recipes available. With the range of gluten free products in supermarkets and specialist stores also growing in numbers, there’s no excuse not to give some of the following gluten free pasta recipes a go.

    Gluten free pasta recipes

    Whether you’re a novice home cook and new to a gluten free diet or a seasoned chef, we’ve put together some tasty gluten free pasta recipes for you to try out.

    Creamy sundried tomato and spicy chicken sausage

    This creamy sundried tomato sauce is packed full of flavour, with the spicy sausage adding a bit of a kick!

    Ingredients:

    • 1lb gluten free pasta
    • 2 teaspoons of olive oil
    • Spicy chicken sausage
    • 1 finely chopped brown onion
    • 1 clove of garlic
    • 3 tablespoons of chopped sundried tomatoes
    • 1 cup of chicken stock
    • Salt
    • 1/3 cup of coconut cream
    • Basil leaves

    Instructions:

    • Bring a pot of salted water to the boil. Add pasta and cook until al dente. Drain and rinse with cold water and set to one side
    • Heat a pan over medium high heat, add 2 teaspoons of olive oil and add the sausage to fry until they are crisp and golden on the outside and cooked through
    • Add three tablespoons of olive oil to a pan, add the onions, garlic, sun dried tomatoes and a sprinkle of salt. Add the chicken broth and simmer for two minutes before adding to a blender to create a smooth sauce
    • Pour the sauce into the pan and whisk in the coconut cream over medium heat
    • Add the drained pasta and stir to combine for a few minutes and then add the sausage and fresh basil to serve

    Gluten Free Tomato Bake

    This Mediterranean gluten free tomato bake includes walnut and feta for a comforting dish.

    Ingredients:

    • 300g Glutafin gluten free pasta fusilli
    • 150g Glutafin gluten free select white loaf
    • 100g sundried tomatoes
    • 1 sliced red onion
    • 150g passata
    • 6 tablespoons red pesto
    • 100g crumbled feta
    • 100g crushed walnuts

    Instructions:

    • Add the pasta to salted, boiling water and cook for 16-18 minutes
    • Sauté the red onion, sundried tomatoes and 50g walnuts until the onion has become brown,
    • Stir in the red pesto and passata
    • Mix in the drained pasta and transfer into an ovenproof dish once combined well
    • Top with crumbled feta, the rest of the crushed walnuts, and breadcrumbs.
    • Grill until golden brown, for 5-10 minutes

    Gluten free salmon pasta

    A creamy salmon and green bean pasta is an ideal pasta for coeliacs.

    Ingredients:

    • 1 gluten free vegetable stock cube
    • 200g gluten free pasta
    • 100g trimmed green beans
    • 100g sliced smoked salmon
    • 50g baby spinach roughly chopped
    • 1 spring onion roughly chopped
    • 50g gluten free soft cheese
    • 1 juiced lemon
    • 1 tablespoon grated parmesan

    Instructions:

    • Boil a pan of salted water and crumble in the vegetable stock cube
    • Tip in the pasta and cook for 8-10 minutes
    • Add green beans 1 minute before the pasta has finished cooking
    • Drain the pasta and green beans, reserving a little of the cooking water
    • Tip back in the salmon and beans, adding the smoked salmon, spinach, spring onion, and soft cheese, stirring together
    • Add some of the pasta water to loosen the cheese and create a sauce
    • Serve with salt, black pepper, and squeeze in the lemon juice, topping with parmesan

    Lemon and garlic chicken carbonara

    A healthy, gluten free chicken carbonara dish that is simple to cook and delicious to eat, even on the busiest of days. Full of protein, sugar free and cooked under an hour.

    Ingredients:

    • Gluten free brown spaghetti or pasta shape of your choice
    • 1 egg
    • 1 egg yolk
    • Freshly grated parmesan
    • Salt
    • Black pepper
    • Thick-cut bacon
    • 1 lean chicken breast
    • Oregano
    • Red pepper flakes
    • Zest of 1 lemon
    • Juice of 1 lemon
    • Garlic clove
    • Parsley

    Instructions:

    • Cook the pasta in boiling water and cook for 2 minutes less than the instructions on the packet, and put aside some of the pasta water for later use
    • Add the egg, egg yolk, parmesan, salt, and pepper into a bowl and whisk together
    • Add the chopped bacon to a pan and fry on medium heat until crisp on both sides
    • For the chicken, add to a bowl with the salt, oregano, pepper, and chilli flakes, tossing to coat evenly
    • Add to the same pan you cooked the bacon in, cooking for 3 minutes on each side
    • Add the lemon zest, lemon juice, and garlic, cooking until the garlic is fragrant
    • Add the drained pasta to the pan with the chicken and toss to combine
    • Add the egg mixture and gently cook the egg using the residual heat from the pan for another minute or two, or until the sauce is glossy and the pasta has absorbed the sauce
    • Throw back in the cooked bacon and season to taste, adding chopped parsley to serve

    Vegan gluten free one pot pasta

    A simple one-pot, vegan and gluten free pasta dish that is incredibly easy to cook yet packed full of flavour.

    Ingredients:

    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • Half a sliced red onion
    • 2 minced cloves of garlic
    • 680ml vegan tomato basil pasta sauce
    • Gluten free pasta
    • ¼ teaspoon cayenne powder
    • ¼ teaspoon dried oregano
    • ½ teaspoon dried parsley
    • ¼ teaspoon dried thyme
    • ½ teaspoon salt
    • Chopped spinach
    • 1 ball vegan mozzarella, shredded

    Instructions:

    • Cook the sliced onions over medium heat until lightly caramelised
    • Add and cook the garlic until fragrant
    • Add pasta and 2 cups of water and lower the heat to stir and coat the dried pasta
    • Add the oregano, parsley, salt and cook for 5-10 minutes
    • Once the pasta is al dente, stir in baby spinach and vegan cheese

    Gluten free pasta on prescription

    If you have been recently diagnosed with coeliac disease, you may be eligible for gluten free products on prescription. For those of you who live in Scotland, Northern Ireland, or Wales, this includes the availability of gluten free pasta. Speak to your GP or dietitian once you have been diagnosed, and they will offer you support or guidance as to what to do next. If you love pasta and want to make pasta from scratch or purchase gluten free pasta to use in some of these dishes, it’ll give you a good foundation of knowledge.
